inTRAC is a roll and/or pitch dampening system for high speed vessels. It can also be use to adjust longitudinal trim. inTRAC actuators are mounted on the transom in sets of two, four, or six, depending upon the size of the vessel. The inTRAC actuator is extremely compact and was designed for high-speed yachts having little clearance below the stern drives.
The bottom of the inTRAC stabilizing actuator is mounted flush with the bottom of the boat. To create lift, the inTRAC actuator extends a knife downward into the flow of water. The knife's intrusion creates a high pressure zone in front of the actuator that acts upon the bottom of the vessel at the transom to create lift. Depending upon how the TRAC Digital Stabilizer controller is configured, this lift can be used to reduce roll or pitch.
The inTRAC stabilizing actuator is machined to conform with the bottom contour of the vessel. It is mounted with stainless fasteners passing through the inTRAC assembly and the transom.
Construction of the inTRAC actuator is primarily fiberglass with plastic bearings for the sliding knife. The cylinder is all stainless construction with an Aquamet 22 rod. Rod scrapers are fitted to help keep the rod clean from sea growth. An internal spring helps keep the actuator and rod retracted while not in use. A separate rod gland drain channels any oil or water leakage to an alarm tank within the vessel.
